The landscapes, the backdrops of our daily lives shape who we become. For some, landscape is a constant throughout their lives. They are born and remain their entire lives in familiar environments. For others, life is lived in changing landscapes. And so it is for me.

I had the good fortune to have grown up in the beautiful gullies of the Blue Mountains, N.S.W. Australia. The mountains instilled in me a sense of absolute awe for Australia’s varied flora and fauna. For most of my adult life, however, I have lived in East-Iceland, a place with an entirely different type of mountainous terrain to that of the mountains of my childhood.

These two polarities serve as the backdrop for my writing and this blog. It has taken me a long time to come to terms with the circumstances of my life. I consider myself privileged to live in two dissimilar environments that offer diverse, ever changing landscapes. These two countries and their landscapes have formed the contours of my life and through this blog I hope to explore and share the wonders they possess.

Enjoy!
